When a pair of newlyweds from South Texas migrated to Waco, there was no concept of the dream that God would awaken in the hearts of their heritage.
Jose Ortiz managed production for the print shop at Baylor University for over 32 years before he retired and he and his wife Sara bought their own small print shop. Within a few years, their daughter Patty returned from Dallas where she had gone after earning a degree in Business at Baylor. She was ready to put the sales experience she had gained while working at Fortune 500 companies to work to build the mom and pop print shop.
It wasn’t long before her efforts paid off, as the company grew and expanded to their third location in ten years time. Along the way, the whole family had one by one come into the Kingdom of God and experienced the power of His Holy Spirit working in their lives.
Patty had become involved with Women’s Aglow International and was serving as the Public Relations Secretary when Jose became ill and went home to be with the Lord in 2002. Just before his death, he had helped Patty decide on the hiring of a new helper, Mark Short.
Mark came to Budget Printing with almost 30 years of experience in the printing industry, and was an invaluable addition to the business operations at a very difficult time for Patty and Sara. He had started working in his dad’s print shop in California when he was only 15.
Fast forward just a few months and God saved Mark utilizing one of the ministers that had been brought in to speak at an Aglow meeting. This incredible event took place in one of the back offices of the print shop, and many other employees through the months have had the opportunity to be ministered to and prayed for as anointed speakers have been ushered through the workings of an ever growing commercial printing business.
Today, Mark and Patty are married, the area of the shop that used to be a break room has been remodeled into a worship center, and meetings are held regularly both for the Waco Women’s Aglow chapter and for the Apostles, Prophets and Teachers that the Lord sends.
Employees, customers and vendors are keenly aware that Budget Printing, Inc. is the home of Fire and Lightning Ministries. They sometimes have the opportunity to be made aware that prayer is practiced regularly within these walls, and that each and every piece of printed material that goes out of this building goes with the anointing of God prayed over it.
Dreams and Visions happen here, and it is easy to see that there is something different about this little print shop that touches the world with their prayers and their printing.
